Description

Ruthenium iodide is a black powder, insoluble in water and soluble in ethanol. Ruthenium iodide can be formed by reacting ruthenium and iodine in a vacuum-sealed quartz tube at 350°C. Or treat RuCl3 xH2O aqueous solution with KI or make HI act on RuO4 to prepare ruthenium iodide.
